455 million euros!EuroChem to acquire Nordic chemical nitrogen business

Nordicchem said it had received a binding offer from EuroChem for its nitrogen business, which includes fertilisers and melamine, for 455 million euros.EuroChem is already one of Europe’s biggest fertiliser producers.As a vertically integrated company, EuroChem is expanding its production and distribution capabilities in key regions of the world.The group has significant manufacturing facilities in Russia, Belgium, Kazakhstan and Lithuania, employs more than 27,000 people in 40 countries and covers products in more than 100 countries.Nordicchem operates fertiliser plants in the centres of important crop-producing areas in Austria and France.With more than 50 distribution points in Europe, nordic-CHEMICAL LAT distributes approximately 4 million tons of products (including approximately 150,000 tons of melamine) annually to western, Central and south-eastern Europe through its network.The deal will significantly strengthen EuroChem’s nitrogen business in Europe, increase production assets in Austria, Germany and France, and increase access to its integrated sales and distribution network on the Danube.It is expected to be completed in the second half of 2022.In 2020, the Nordic chemical nitrogen business had sales of 3.9 million tons and revenue of 908 million euros.In 2020, nordicchem’s overall sales revenue was 6.8 billion euros and its net profit was 589 million euros.
